Ramonet Montrachet: This bottle was flat and uninteresting, which was a shame as my expectations were high. Others felt "closed" was more descriptive, but to me that was being generous.

Ramonet Montrachet Lunch (Phoenix, AZ USA): Clean and precise aroma, exceptional balance, a complete wine with a memorable mineral finish that glides across the palate.

drank with the 10 and 11, this initially started off powerful but compact, with a bit of woodsy tannin on the finish (which others weren't really detecting/complaining about). After 30 minutes that character faded, the wine opened up and began mimicking its older sibling...complex fruit, minerals, mint. After 2 hours it was a show stopper. not quite as flamboyant as the 10, but not far behind. Jeremy thought this will last longer, and i think that's right

Acker Merrall Bicentennial Gala (Cipriani Wall Street - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Served alongside the (slightly more brilliant) 2010. Plenty of apple, pear and some lemon with mint and floral support. Extremely ripe and elegantly textured with a stunningly long finish. My first time having this wine.

Cru Crew Wine dinner hosted by Brad England (Mara restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel in Minneapolis, MN.): Served alongside the '08, '10, '11. Excellent wine but in stiff competition. Some mint, spice in the nose. Less complex than others in the flight. It seemed somewhat 'closed up' and lacks the 'wow' factor that many wines had in this tasting. Excellent structure but likely just needs more time.
