  Wines for the Acker Merrall Bicentennial Auction (The Pool - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Dark color, but still very bright with mostly baked apple and almost sweet spice. Very rich start-to-finish.

  11th of 12, pnp, crumbly cork, perfect level, aging and poxed, heightened colour, drinkable with pleasure and underlying weight, style and complexity obvious, if way off fully clean bottles. Normally at least VF, this bottle VG+ (16.5)….probably best to drink up.

  10th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, previously mostly F or better, VF in 11 and 12, couple of poxed bottles - still remarkably pale, quite leggy; fresh, pure, mineral, complex, previous tropical fruit notes now muted and tending to apple and pear; medium but grand cru mouthfeel, long, persistent and concentrated, fab structure, less fruit than last few bottles, remarkably pure for vintage, very mineral, probably needs drinking. F+ (18).
