  • Fragrant upon opening but angular and austere on the palate. After a 10 hour slow ox, it was much better showing strawberries, cherries, and florals. I’m sure the wine was giving so much more but just writing what I can recall on the following day. Great acidity, integrated tannins and a pleasing finish. Decant if drinking now but can definitely use more time in the bottle.

  • Complex, earthy, good acidity and sticky tannin. Will improve with some more ageing.

  • Veldig god lukt. Tørr men litt kort utgang. Kan godt stå noen år til før den drikkes.

  • ruby-brickbrown colour, some browning in the edge.

nose: m+ intercity, a bit closed and shy in the glass needs air, m+ oak
the oak usage is the first thing that hits you, the wine is floral and roses comes and after some time in the glass the classic Nebbiolo Characters starts to show; redfruit; Cherries, rose. the wine gives some spicy notes as pepper. earthy notes comes to mind and some mushroom vibes (think like Bourgogne Pinot).

Pallet: M+ acid, M+-High Tannin, m+ body, M+-high Complexity, long aftertaste.

a very good wine, for me the oak is a bit too much and the fruit too shy, the oak tones is a bit too dominating, the wine is 14,5% which i think is too much for Nebbiolo, but the wine carries the alcohol very well and no unpleasant alcohol sting. a very serious Barolo and very traditional in style, has to be decanted for the wine to fully evolve.

  • Pale Garnet

Medium(+) intensity, developing aromas of tart red cherry, red plum, raspberry, rose, violet, crushed stones, anise, white pepper, licorice, tomato leaf, sandalwood, vanilla, balsamic vinegar, maraschino cherry juice, kirsch, tea leaf, leather.

Dry, high acid, high alcohol, full body, high fine-grained grippy tannins, pronounced intense flavors of tart red cherry, red plum, raspberry, rose, violet, crushed stones, anise, white pepper, licorice, tomato leaf, sandalwood, vanilla, balsamic vinegar, maraschino cherry juice, kirsch, tea leaf, leather. The wine has a leathery, astringent medium(+) finish.

Quality: This is a Very Good wine. Very similar to wine #3 and #4, more fruit concentration in the way of candied red fruits. Finish was too quick and too astringent, alcohol may be too high contributing to an imbalance in the wine keeping it from being Outstanding. The rim of the wine displays a faint orange color.

Aging: This wine is suitable for Aging. See every other note =)
