Pre La Paulée Zachy's BYO Dinner (Lafayette NYC): Class of the vertical. A gorgeous perfect nose of berries for days with meat and spice. The palate has terrific balance of excellent GC concentration with precise flavors. Fresh, lifted and intense finish. Wow.

Zachys La Paulée "Warm-up" Dinner (Lafayette - New York NY): In 03/06/07/08/09/10 vertical. Absolutely my favorite of this great vertical. Black cherry and plum with some red cherry note, all in front of roasted meat and spice hints. Truly stunning textures and near-perfect balance. This is a wine that should get more careful attention and consideration as it unfolds over an evening. Great now, with upside.

Rich and smooth. Certainly some upside here as it continues to evolve. Almost entirely earth and fruit today, will take on additional complexity as more spice notes emerge. 94-95+

La Paulée Chevalier Fête (Saison - San Francisco CA): In 09/10/11/12 vertical from the domaine. Brilliant wine for now or for the cellar. Rich and meaty in a fashion that is unmistakably Gevrey Grand Cru, while texturally so elegant. Long, long, regal finish.
