Malcolm's Ledbury lunch (The Ledbury, London): Red fruited, lots of spice, savoury, smoky - just how a Vosne is meant to taste, and I'd have guessed an 85. Superb substance and grip - a notch up on anything we had at my Old Fourrier dinner a couple of years back. [Actually, this is my memory failing me - revisiting my notes, I see that this was the star of that dinner.]

Fourrier Griottes (The Ledbury, London): Surprisingly full and dark fruited on the nose. Almost denser and deeper than the 90. Full. And quite deep on the attack, more weight and depth and density of fruit here than I would have expected. Coming back to this there is a slightly dry edge towards the finish too, but not nearly as pronounced as the 90. With air this is showing nicely balanced - a good combination of (surprisingly) primary fruit and a bit of mineral edge and savour interest. ****1/2

Very aromatic... stems? Light-to-medium body, but good concentration and held together. Red fruit, good acidity. Surprising this one.

Rough and ready, beefy but not an elegant wine - but curiously not a heavyweight either. (Ai Fiori)

Fourrier Griottes pre-Jean-Marie (The Ledbury, London): Rounder, more red fruited, smoky coffee on the nose, showing some sweet fruit at the core and broader than the two preceding wines - this is gorgeous
