1982 Bordeaux + some Pirates (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Another beautiful suprise: Deep, ruby garnet color. Very fine and elegant nose. On the palate bold and firm, but also round and balanced. Good, fine acidity, medium tanning, very good length. 91-92 Great PQR!

I thought this was delicious and definitely still drinking well. Obviously time has smoothed out the tannins, so it's a subtle wine. But the Bordeaux flavor was lovely, we had it with steak and it was an excellent pairing. I think it's worth it for this price point and i would buy again, although I got it for $50 on Industry Wine Merchant

Wow, just an incredibly enjoyable bottle with zero expectations. Won as part of a mixed bottle auction lot with 1 bottle still left. Very pure with beautiful floral nose with whiffs of cigar and camphor. Even after being open for a couple of hours it didn't fall apart as expected. Palate had a seamless and smooth smokiness to it. Not a blockbuster but just a joy to savor and linger over. For $11 just a total steal of a bottle

We were surprised at how fresh this was. Decanted and sampled in about an hour--still plenty of fruit as well as tannins. Both fruit and tannins held up over the next hour as we drank with meal. Lovely--last of a case I bought decades ago.

The wine finishes long. It tastes like prune, tobacco, mineral, tea and lead pencil. The wine has round texture.
