These wines from Mugneret-Gibourg are all just so delicious, and not surprisingly the 18' Ruchottes is exceptional. Still primary of course, but I always really enjoy these wines in their youth, even at the grand cru level. Fruit is so soft, deep and rich. I'd even go so far as to call this wine voluptuous, but it's balanced with such an elegant structure -- lovely bright acidity and precise, fine tannins. After spending time with the lovely woman who make these wines in Burgundy last year, I'd still be excited to drink these if they were half as good as they actually are... but for my taste, Mugneret Gibourg really hits the nail on the head and they're consistently among my top favorites across all of Burgundy. So good!!

Michael's Wedding: Double decanted. Too primary that it shows tomato flavors, not faulty at all, just young. This bottle confirms my suspicion for 2018 red, almost too ripe to allow nuances. I've had a fair amount of young Gibourg and this feels like a lone case. 93

2022 Excellent Burgundy Adventure; 10/31/2022-11/6/2022 (Burgundy): Intense very primary nose displaying super concentrated rich black fruit, blackberry concentrated, black cherry, roasted meat, a hint of licorice, dark spices and earth. Unbelievably concentrated, layers upon layers of intense primary black fruit, super rich and oily, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a long intense primary black fruit driven meaty finish. Although very primary, almost barrel sample like, the upfront opulent sweet black fruit makes this wine immensely enjoyable.

La Paulee NYC 2022 walkaround tasting Lighter in color than the Ech, intense aromas of red and black fruits, 13.7 degrees here, but it avoided the heat, aromatically deeply black fruited wine, dense and long, sumptuous balance in the finish. My favorite in the line up. A great wine in the making.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Ultra rich fruit with the bright textures to balance. Spiced with mostly black fruit and nearly balanced structure at this early stage. A great wine, just still a few years away. One of the the tasting's highlights.
