TWS North London; Cote Rotie and Condrieu at Must & Lees (Must & Lees, N1): This is in a great place right now; loads of fruit (hovering between red and black) left, showing very generously. Oak and those classic savoury cote rotie notes are too, but everything's in lovely balance. Tannins are resolved; this must be at or very near its peak.

Condrieus and Côte-Rôties of North London (Must & Lees): An attractive nose, with an intriguing combination of bright fruit and ash. Dry and austere on the palate, lots of grippy red fruit. I liked this, and suspect it's at peak, but wanted a bit more substance. The group liked it even more, and voted it #2 red tonight - ahead of the Jamet from the same vintage!

Condrieu and Cote Rotie; 9/28/2023-10/28/2023 (Must and Lees, N1): Fabulous. Tapenade, mushroom, pepper, spice, totally on song and a splendid bottle. Gorgeous cool fruit, smoked meat and tomato paste. Second favourite wine of the night, close behind the Gangloff. Buy it each year, hide it away for 15 years, reap the benefit. Drink the 2007 now for a giddy experience.

Condrieu and Cote Rotie (Must & Lees, N1): Beautifully saturated red and purple fruit, violets, herbs and rich earth. An undercurrent of savoury depth but this is about elegance above all else. A sense of freshness and fine balance between the fruit, aromatics and oak. I just loved the poise of this wine. Fantastic.

(COTE ROTIE Clusel Roch) Rhone Dear Friends, Here's an impressive wine at a very fair price for the genre. We previously offered the 2006 version of Clusel Roch Cote Rotie (to a feeding frenzy of sorts) and the 2007 has now been released. I know this sounds like retailer-speak but...wow. In my verbose opinion, this is the finest regular bottling from Clusel Roch in a long time. The 2006 is certainly excellent for its velveteen red fruit impression and sense of place but the 2007 has a nervous mineral structure that is like elegant rock mixed with the same weave of divine fruit. From a terroir-chase perspective, this wine hits the bulls-eye and it reflects its pedigree and hillside in a beautiful way. It should age for a number of years as well. Compared to Syrah grown anywhere else, this example of Clusel Roch reminds us why the Northern Rhone is unmatched for transparent and medium weight reflection of the varietal (not to mention a gorgeous bouquet of perfumed, smoky fruit that draws the taster in like a ravenous spider to its web)... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for perfumed and structured low-alcohol Syrah that could only come from this western ridge above the Rhone River. ONE SMALL SHIPMENT ONLY at this price (about the same as in France). VERY HARD TO FIND outside of Europe: 2007 Clusel Roch Cote Rotie ...oh yeah, a few of you may be interested in this as well... 2007 Clusel Roch Cote Rotie "Les Grandes Places" EXTREMELY LIMITED (less than 10 cases for the entire US market) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone7108 Rhone7109

Wow. Out of a 375 I forgot I had. Smells and tastes like Gangloff Sereine Noir. Stunning balance of garrigue, fruit and acid. Wish I had more.
