A lovely wine and I had it over several weeks via storage in Boston rounds. The slightest degradation between by two and night seven, but none in weeks two or four. Impressive wine impressive storage

Even ruby. Piercing aromas of black fruit and licorice. Medium weight with some richness unfolding with air. No discernible wood imprint at all. Cool and precise with fine acidity and some darker, ripe red fruit insinuating itself later. Fine tannic finish. At its apogee now, but I imagine this will hold up for another 5 years. This is a terrific example of a lovely result from 2001, which didn't get a lot of props as a vintage at the time. Patience has paid off with more than a few of these ugly ducklings.

(Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots) Medium ruby red. From a rather powdery red fruit beginning the nose slowly takes on more interest and depth - though not obviously Vosne like the Beaumonts - kirsch, a little plum and cherry. The palate is fresh with tasty medium concentrated fruit. The wood is not that well integrated giving plenty of grain and a bitter edge to the finish - more-so than the 2000. Improves with aeration. This will also be a very nice wine, but needs keeping a little longer than the 2000, despite not seeming so concentrated.
(Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots) Light orangey red color; Asian spice nose; lovely balanced palate of strawberry and sous bois with lime acidity; medium slightly sweet finish 92+ pts.
(Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots) Lovely nose, rose petals and incense; tasty, tangy, brambly palate with good body; medium finish

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Spiaggia - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Charming and mature red cherry and flavors with savory spice. Good depth and length. Doubt any further upside.
