This bottle had a fully soaked cork and signs of seepage, but the fill was very upper neck fill and it performed well, albeit perhaps not quite to the heights of the first and third bottles. Lots of aged leather and earthy character on the nose, fruit still present.

Judgement of Sydney (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Served blind. leather, earth, sweet spice, capsicum, cedar, blackcurrant, slight Brett, with time a touch of Cassis - broadens and grows on the nose. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, savoury, wetly fleshy, a bit skinny on the palate but still fresh and lovely. yeah, this is an 80's Bordeaux - 83? 84? not one of the alleged 'great' vintages but still wonderfully enjoyable.

Brought to my parents house and served as part of a multi-course dinner with their friends. This bottle was a return to form after the last one, which showed some seepage. Similar notes to my first bottle. I gave this bottle about 30 minutes of slow O and felt it improved with some additional air time.

Cork was fully soaked with clear signs of seepage. Not decanted. Not surprisingly, this bottle didn't show as well as the last one. It started out rather lean but did get noticeably better with air. It peaked after about 45-60 minutes open and then started to go downhill.
