Casual Wines Session on Friday night (Extra Space, Boon Keng): Dark ruby with mature mahogany tinge. Expressive nose, elegantly showing dried fruits, blackcurrant, plum, earth, forest floor, leather, tobacco and hints of spice. Palate still exhibits lively fruits, blackcurrant, leather and dried plum. High acidity, smotth and mellow. Long subtle finish and tannins has fully resolved. A bit off balance with acidity too high but still a great bottle. Toward the end of tasting the fruits drying up but can feel that this is more robust than 1961 Clos Fourtet.

Light ruby in color, the wines profile was high in acid, giving the cassis, spice, truffle and cranberry scented wine lift. Medium bodied and not complex, it was interesting drinking this at 50 years of age.

Murky tea colored, with little discernable fruit, this bright wine offered orange, spice, smoke and red fruits. This requires drinking.
