  • Intoxicating bouquet wafts from the glass with sweet cherries and a hint of cut grass swirling alongside a classy touch of animale. The fear of a closed monolith yielding nothing is instantly dispelled and the nose announces - this Bordeaux is open for business - thank god! The palate is similarly cajoled with sweet black fruits which do battle with the strong tannins for control of your tongue - but the experience is immensely balanced and pleasurable. To be sure, this wine has the structure and sweetness of fruit for many many years in front of it and it will improve in bottle if given more time. But it is also drinking beautifully now and you will not be disappointed if you crack a bottle - it’s already extremely impressive.

  • Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. From MAG. This also came quite late and I found it very tannic. Had better showings with this.

  • J Bday dinner at Wimborne. Pop and poured. Drank over 1 hour. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Apearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour with purplish rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of smoky tobacco, red capsicum, blackcurrant, pencil lead, cassis, dark leather. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), big high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of cassis, smoky tobacco, blackcurrant, blackberries, black cherries, black licorice. Big long finish.
Very good quality chock full of substance, and as the additional label from the wine shop suggested - This is a bottle of Big D*ck Energy. Swinging around flamboyantly at the moment, this really needs some years to calm it down.

  • No detailed notes but this was fantastic, classic flavors. Still a baby, should improve a point per decade for the next three decades.

  • Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Wine 21 – A bit green and vegetal but also showing very ripe fruit, fresh. A bit simple.

Afterthought – Not sure what happened here. When tasted in 2016 in Cos vertical, I really liked the wine.
