  • Decanted, and tasted after about 30 minutes open. Beautiful nose with loads of mint and balsamic, orange peel and bright red fruit. On the palate, more mint and herbs with leather and balsamic and a touch of pomegranate; still loads of dusty tannin on the finish.

Others seem to have reported this is over the hill, but this bottle tasted pretty classic to me and would probably soften with more time.

  • On pop and pour it wasn't giving up much. With some air, flavors of black cherries with distinct balsamic notes. While it became a bit more enjoyable with extended aeration, the wine lacked complexity and seemed past it's prime.

  • (More e Macine, La Morra) Decanted a short while. And it really gained from this. Old style Barolo, with a dark and captivation nose of overripe Black Berries and lots og spices. Dark and full Barolo.

  • nose: captivating and beautiful nose that wafts from the glass with nuanced and lovely tones of roses, red cherries, herbs, tar, and bits of juniper spices. Deftly balanced and oh so lovely, this is hitting me in the soft spots on the nose with excellent depth

taste: lovely medium feel with succlent tannins and excellent medium/high acidity. Well balanced tones of roses, dark florals, red cherries, herbs, tar, and various spice tones with a touch of truffles hits on the back end. Soft and nuanced on the palate that flows well

overall: a beautiful barolo that is drinking very well right now. Extremely well balanced that is nuanced and lovely. Has a real feminine charm to it that makes you gravitate towards it

  • Barolo Seminar (Perman): From Casteglione Falletto. Only barriques used.
Rather enjoyable with truffles, sweet fruits supported by a fine acidity.
On the modern side, less than the Grasso Runcot though, but well crafted.
