Lovely dried cherries with mushrooms, leather, and good mid-palate depth offering a bit of savoriness. Incredibly elegant, and with structure to continue to age.

White Alba truffle dinner at Park Place: Some earth and tobaccoi initially. I like the nose on this - it is complex. Leaner and crunchier than the Giacosa. I like this a lot.

All I can say is WOW. This is the start of a beautiful life going forward and I’m privileged to have this with duck breast and White Alba Truffles tonight because nothing matches better

Lots of tar, flint, hint of alcohol lift. Ripe black fruit, prunes, cinnamon, nice acidity and very fine tannins. Opened 3 hours prior to drinking. It’s ready but no rush.

(Giacomo Conterno Barolo Cascina Francia) Very expressive nose of red fruits, complex mineral and soil tones, tar and a hint of florality. Also a touch of exotic cardamon and clove spice. Profound nose. Smokey too. Beautiful palate presence with wonderful elegance and finesse. This wine definetly has a superstucture and just unbelievable material. The tannins are grainy yet firm. Long finish just hints at what is to come. Truly great Barolo.
