Quite impressive for dark rich fruit with nice Vosne spice. Very tasty and shows the ripeness of the vintage with earthy nuances of the site. For $150, a deal!

Light to medium hazy red. Nose is strawberry, burnt orange peel, caramel. Medium, silky body with forest notes to add to the strawberry flavours. Medium length. At its peak.
Cloudy and slight orange rim, cork was in excellent condition. Red currants, sour cherries and orange marmalade. Very intriguing, was more secondary than I expected, evolved nicely over an hour. Perhaps a little less fruit than we would expect for a 1990, unusual but still beautiful nonetheless.

Holiday Champagne Gala (Park Ridge Country Club): Certainly lighter weight than the typical 1990 1er Cru, and ever-so-slightly dirty.
