Pnp out of curiosity, and perhaps to calibrate my Pinot palate after finish some left over of a solid but not great mid-tier Swiss Pinot (Fromm Selvenen - rated 89-90), from what was an excellent 2013 vintage in Buendner Herrschaft, Was finishing some work and hence not paying much attention to the wine when taking a first sip. In the glass, much lighter in color than the Swiss Pinot, a fairly subtle attack, initially with residual CO2, but then BOOM; the mid palate immediately gets all my attention, aromatic and expressive, beautiful sweet red fruit, fine wood spices, some earth, its all accurately drawn and then leads into a long finish. Wow. Nose 92, palate 94. Great VR.

Decanted @ 4:00 served @ 7:30 Youthful color, fresh red fruit nose laced with Vosne spice. Mid weight, fine tannins, balanced solid finish. Young but quite drinkable now, solid upside with another 5 or so years of cellaring

This was simply fireing on all cylinders! Explosion of Asian spice perfume and deep dark berries - young of course but so sexy right now! Perhaps I was lucky!!!!

Nice and elegant, with great freshness across the palate. Good dark red fruit saturates the mid palate, leading to an energetic finish that shows nice powdery tannins and medium plus power. One of my favorites at La Paulee's Verticals. No doubt a different bottle than Drwine's.

La Paulée de San Francisco - The Verticals (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. In 14/13/11 vertical. Red fruit, good spice. Good weight and length. Slightly dirty, but that's not all bad. Best to drink young.
