[Grand Millesime's Bordeaux:The Legendary Years 1928-1961 dinner at Circa Restaurant, Melbourne; Slip Label] Medium deep garnet, orange hue, lightening at the edge. Musty nose overshadowing traces of black fruits with earth, leather, graphite, mushroom, underbrush, forest floor & humus notes. Lean, dry, insipid & hollow with plenty of acidity around. Short attenuated finish. Clearly not a good bottle!

Bordeaux North to South (My house): Very little fruit on the nose, thin and smells oxidized; lovely acidity, leather and old drawer, but – to me – quite far over the hill. A very disjointed wine quality wise. With some time in the glass it comes together and becomes a bit more interesting, this is mainly due to some complexity emerging.

Olde Wine Dinner 1925-1966 (Chez Kailin Cellars): Darker more mature color and feel on the palate. With the cheese course, this was really a nice pairing.

Magisk vin! Overraskende mye liv fortsatt, flott syre og lengde. Lær, gamle møbler, ørliten touch av solbær (has been)...
