La Festa del Barolo: Gala Dinner (The Pool in NYC): It seems I never get to have this wine at an opportunity for it to really show well. This seems totally reasonable. Out of magnum. And yet somehow doesn’t quite stand up to the others being poured. Would be interested to revisit in more of a solo setting.

A friend turns 50: Totally fine barolo that was overshadowed by it's partner potentially because of the extra 30 years that it had. This had a little bit more of a bite (maybe the oak? But would have thought integrated by now).

Initially rejected, on day 2 much better - and not bad; upon opening almost complete covered in nail polish et al, on day 2 liberated with a sound fruit,a dark matter, tar - certainly modern, toasted - but not with out some local pedigree. #SøllerødKrobog

This needs air - seriously; better on day 3, actually, and while it opens with quite the heavy stamp of modernity, chocolate & woof galore, it becomes lighter on its feat and the splendid Cannubi-fruit shines through. It will get better, tannins are there to back it up.
