I’m now spoilt for any other red wine. This was wonderful. Great concentration and length but very elegant . Everything you want in epic northern Rhone , violets, posh leather, tapenade, blackberries, the best bacon you can imagine and black pepper . It drank magnificently for about 45 mins then suprisingly started to fade just a little. 4.5

My only bottle from vintage 2011, opened 120 min before dinner, amazing , delicious, dark anything, soft, mature and overwhelming perfect. Compared with Côte -Rôtie 2011 same producer the Côte Brune is so huge in anything a single plot , while the other is a mix of many different vineyards.

Tasted blind; ruby garnet to rim, good clarity; nose screams N. Rhone with granite, white black and green pepper, sour plum, dark and red berries, light olive tapenade, some good French oak that is already integrating, and a strong roasted note that I called scorched; palate fresh and clean with some tannin on finish, classic and slight rustic quality that I wanted to think was Crozes but the nobility was really strong, the roasted note didn't go away, and the brightness and polish was Northern Northern Rhone; called 2010-2011 Cote Rotie, thought this was classic and sort of a darker soil component (Cote Brune, duh?); really freakin' good, have to get some if I can find it.
