  • This could be pushing close to perfection for northern rhone. Decanted for 3 hours, the nose was an intense collection of barnyard, meat, blood and dark fruits. On the palate, an expectation of a bold and powerful profile was instead substituted by a much more elegant and delicate mouthfeel. Whilst 2007 was quite dry and hot in the South, this Northern Rhone, served blind, evoked thoughts of a cooler and wetter vintage, with freshness, acidity and even a touch of leanness in the finish - all perfect for the fatty wagyu beef this accompanied. In conclusion, one of the greatest Cote Rotie wines I can recall and fitting that it is one of the regions most heralded makers and most iconic bottlings.

  • perfect spot. Holy crap. Cracked black pepper, meaty olive tempinade going crazy on the nose - then with air this beautiful floral note that comes flying out. expressive to the max bros. The palate is rough in a type of wild way. Sharp edges from the mild tannin but filled to the brim with glossy black fruit. It’s dark bodied but perfectly balanced as the acidity rides well in the backseat.

  • Intense black fruits, iodine, blood, violets and pepper. Very feral. Revisit in 10 years

  • Stunning aromatics of tomato leaf essence (if there was such a thing) mixed with spicy black fruits. Palate still very primary with pronounced tannic grip. Give it a decade.
