Hillside - Dirty Habit - Nopa (SF): Medium gold, reflections of copper. A high-strung nose of browned lemon, taut cheese rind. “A burnished nose” - [don’t know what I meant by this]. Intense on the palate. Modest, well-integrated oak. Super high acid. Long. Dense and taut.

From a bottle purchased on release with a .5 cm ullage, this bottle was darker than the others so I decided to open it. The wine had a gold center with clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose displayed apricots, pears, citrus, and white stone.
In the mouth, this wine was overripe at first but showing a strong mineral character at the same time. It had huge fruit, huge acidity, and substantial length.
On cold easily see the impressive underlying nature of this wine. However, I must imagine that it is flawed with the super/over-ripe qualities. My guess is that this bottle had a slight bit of premox.

Biscuity, yeasty nose with plenty of steely minerality; quite lemony. Flavoursome but the acidity is a little too aggressive for my taste and slightly impeded my enjoyment of what was otherwise a classy, elegant wine.

Sour aromatics. Bit bitter and flat on palate.
