PnP. Down the hatch with veal chops. Good bottle. Blue fruits, some foresty notes, lean and bright. Definitely cool climate syrah. Not too sophisticated but on point and ready to drink.

Lovely. Bought and stored since new in cellar. So refreshing to find a CA Syrah that is a lot of flavor with 12.4% ABV. Doubt it gets better but has a few years left. My experience is that Peay wines need some time to open up.

Purple all the way to the edge, no browning. Reticent nose. Modest fruit, very bright, gentle tannin. Really dominated by the acid. Didn't really budget on night one. Night two, a different story. Musk and dark fruit on the nose, fleshed out a bit. The acid pushes this firmly into the "drink with food" territory, but it rounded out and came out to play. I would guess this wine needs more time.

Typical of many 2011s - very lean and missing the heat during growing season needed to adequately ripen and provide the fruit. Don’t think this Syrah will improve with more bottle time. 2011 was just a tough year.
