From a supposedly "off" vintage. Maybe I'm a sucker for aged barolo. Garnet in color with just the slightest tinge of orange at the edge. Fabulous aromatics of tar, roses, and leather. Tannins are well integrated as the wine shows wonderful secondary earthy notes. Great food wine that paired well with the broiled salmon and rare roast beef. Those wouldn't have been my first choices for food but what the hell, it worked. At peak with some time to go. #2 WOTN.
