Great Older Wines at the Place to Drink Great Older Wines (Tampa FL): Popped-and-poured, this was dark and started out ripe, musty and slightly tired. I wasn't optimistic, but wow(!) this brightened up within 15 minutes, then (shockingly) kept improving for at least the next 2 or 3 hours. Peach and candied lemon with some new oak spice hints and overall rich spice. Good+ density and length to start, very good+ to finish.

Bought the bottle at a cafe in Beaune. The dark yellow color suggested an oxidized wine, which it was. Not sure if it was premox, or if it was just tired and gone after bad cellaring.

Only a good wine nothing more especially for Montrachet. Showing its age no point in keeping any longer on this showing just on the decline I think. A lot of buttery caramel/toasty notes from maturity does have a volume/weight on the palate but lacks the real intensity and awesome power that this vineyard is capable of. A curiosity and worth it for that but from this vintage I guess that could be expected? If you are looking for the real Montrachet character then I wouldn't suggest buying this.

This wine was enjoyed at the L'Aterlier Joel de Robuchon in HK. The bottle was perfect and no fear of premox. Classic Montrachet with a bouquet evoking butter, spice, vanilla and a palate that was buttery with oak and citrus. A burgundy whote when aged and properly stored is one of the pinnacles of beautiful wine.

No sign of premox. Yellow. Moderate oak when first opened and a bit out of balance. Citrus aromas. Not much minerality. Rich with nice depth. The fruit and oak seemed to balance out nicely with time in the glass and after an hour, was quite nice.
