nose - lanolin, white flower mouth - white peach, fleshy, very round wine and better as it comes to room temp. this would be one of those wine that, if consumed in a black glass, you might not be able to know if it were a red or a white.

Purchased on release from Drouhin. Lemon/orange transparent whose nose was a little funky at first with a herb, crushed gravel and flint air about it-the palate was that of Monty entering the arena with syrupy, bold Chardonnay citrus power and caramel-lingering on the palate endlessly with a finish that wrapped the olfaction for 5 minutes-at least. Wow! Thanks to D.R. for this beauty.

1996 Burgundy Retrospective - The Last Session (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Expressive nose displaying decadent yellow fruit, apricot, apple pie, lemon oil, crème brulee, a hint of butter scotch, spicy spices and mineral. Unbelievable concentration, layers upon layers of decadent yellow fruit, rich, opulent and oily yet also perfectly harmonious and detailed, bright acidity and mineral, and an incredibly long opulent yellow fruit driven finish with spicy spices at the end. This is more DRC Montrachet like than the 96 DRC Montrachet, i.e. rich, ripe and exotic. Exceptional showing.

La Paulée de Los Angeles Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA): Small glass. I have tasting bottles of this wine ranging from DOA to great, and tonight's might have been the best ever. Powerful and pristine, this had a wonderfully admirable lingering finish.
