Appearance is still excellent and completely belies its age - completely opaque with very little bricking around the rims.
Nose gives off eucalyptus and buckets of black currants. Medium bodied, this was not an Aussie bruiser but rather showed that Australia can do a sophisticated take of a classic Bordeaux-blend. Medium-plus length and now completely integrated and with super smooth tannins.
Still a lovely wine drinking amazingly.

The 'Pyrus' was Lindeman's flagship bordeaux blend from Coonawarra and not widely distributed in the U.S. Initial funk blows off revealing mint, eucalyptus and olives on sweet cherry and black currant fruit. Deceptively youthful for it's age and type. PnP'd, the wine gained weight with air and the leftovers were stellar about five hours later.
20 yo Coonawarra Cabernet - classic (Cabernet Sauvignon 62%, Merlot 21%, Cabernet Franc 10%, Malbec 6%)
Colour excellent for its age still red , cork excellent although someone else mentioned it was tight , very tight Nose Herbal and cedary, with aromas of sweet cigars. Plenty of black current cassis mint chocolate The palate smooth and rich great intensity and harmony and balance and super long finish I think the addition of Malbec has given this wine a great backbone of tannin Overall fantastic - pity it's my last bottle

Beautiful Wine! Rich, smooth and seductive. I had this wine about 10 years ago and it was just OK. Boy has it developed and I'm guessing it is at its peak. Wish I had more.

A stray bottle was drinkable but a littletired. The 1994 vintage was much better.
