From a .375. Three-hour decant through a screened funnel. Brandy nose during decant and some sediment on the screen. After dinner, nose was similar to a good tawny port: berries, caramel, almond bark. Palate of Luxor cherries, bacon fat, raisins, with a long finish. Was quite delicious and still has plenty of aging potential.

Opened a 375. As it sits in the glass it develops a beautiful nose of chocolate roses nuts and a spice element. All mimicked on the pallet with raisins fruit cake bitter chocolate and honey buns. You wouldn’t know that this is 30 yrs old. In total balance. Beautiful. This will go many more years and keep developing. Love it.

Port Masterclass for my two daughters (@ My place): The same impressions as in the bottle I drank in 2015; glue in the bouquet, also dried fruits like dates and figs. Even though the glue is a bit weird and probably faulty, the wine is nevertheless a pleasure to drink. But I don’t score it.

Pfff...very good bottle of port. Still plenty of life left but in fighting form as is. Decanted for 4 hours. Smooth, giving, generous. beautiful plum, cherry, chocolate, some spices. A winner!
