  • Just a few drops. Tasted separately during a whole week. One-dimensional. Sweetness, raisins contribution. Unbalanced because excess of alcohol, even after 40 years. I have not problem to confess this is not my style. Ever.

Solo unas gotas. Catado por separado durante toda una semana. Unidimensional. La dulzura, contribución de las pasas. Desequilibrado por exceso de alcohol, incluso después de 40 años. No tengo problema en confesar que este no es mi estilo. Nunca.

  • Small x3 Vintage Port Tasting: Starts with a touch of VA (glue and varnish) but also some lovely freshly ground coffee beans.
Light and refreshing plum fruit almost tending towards cherries. A delicate structure and overall a very elegant and refined wine. Loved it!

  • Chateau Figeac - 35 year vertical tasted blind 1985-2019: Dessert wine after the tasting. Distinctive rhum pot nose of cooked fruit. Lots of alcoholic heat. Like a brandy. Meh!

  • No notes taken. Very intense, expressive from start to finish. Lots of substance and richness mainly from an array of dried fruits, herbs and spice and a tiny bit of smoky minerality. The intensity is a bit overwhelming but especially the alcohol is not at all well integrated. There is so much heat from the first sniff and through the palate. If you like the port aromas and can cope with the high alcohol better than I do, you will rate this higher. As usual, not much love for port from my side (port lovers will definitely be more enthusiastic).

  • Color/App: Light, translucent ruby core -> very diffuse garnet rim; quite light in appearance. Not a blockbuster bouquet, I'd describe it a quite feminine. Raisins and raspberries, toast points and milk chocolate. Gentle, sweet palate showing off the berry fruit, raisins and chocolate. Good acidity and a moderately long finish complete the package. Nice stuff. May not be quite at the top level of a Grahams but really quite lovely. I'd drink this any day.
