  • big nebbiolo fruit on the nose with some tar. Palate is mushroom, dark fruit, a bit of spice, with good aciidity and a long soft tannic hit on the finish. Still bright and youngish, could probably go on for a few more years, but this is my last bottle.

  • On the nose: tar and earth and big nebbiolo fruit -- delightful. Palate is mushroom, dark fruit, a bit of spice, with good aciidity and a long soft tannic hit on the finish.
I'm going to extend my drinking window to 2011 on this, since it is easily true, given how vibrant this wine still is.

  • What a dramatic improvement. The nose is full or tar and earth and nebbiolo fruitiness. The palate of dark fruit, tobacco, balanced aciidity, and medium tannins at the end is very satisfying. A little bit of spice early on, but that fades into the broader balanced flavors above.

  • Has improved markedly from a last trial in March. Tar, earth, truffley notes on the nose. The palate is much more balanced and satisfying -- dark cherries, tobacco, good acidity and some good tannins at the end.

  • A nice barbaresco, but currently pretty simple. A soft tar hint in the nose with good dark fruit. Flavor profile is fairly simple -- no complex elements, just nice nebbiolo fruit. A little hot at the end.
