Deep color indeed, rich, full body, tannic grip, prominent fruit, black cherry/black raspberry, some oak, chunks of sediment on the cork and the bottom of the bottle, very impressive Barbera on its own, or with food (sausage and meatballs and Sullivan Street bread).
Colour does not indicate ten-year-old wine. Deep ruby with no brick on the rim. Little shy to start but opened up within ½ hour. Lots of dark red fruit with complexity added by with herbs. Paleta focused and fine tannins are still present supporting the fruit structure. Wine kept improving to the last drop. Lots of time left in this one but truly enjoyable now.

Hard to believe, but I think this still might be a bit too young! Loads of Barbera character, but there is still some fruit hiding behind the tannins. Snappy acidity and a long finish make this a winner for me. I will probably hold remaining bottles for a year or two. The struggle with this wine is the price; it's hard to ignore that you can get a nice Barbaresco or Barolo for the same $$$.

From Mag, nicely evilved but still some fruit left, not as complex as barolo or barbaresco bit still typical for Piemont. Drink now.
