  Dorato intenso. Molto fumé ed animale, pepe bianco, camomilla, nespola, cedro, caffè verde. Bocca intensa, grassa, non molto fresca ma intrigante e lunga

  A serious White Night, and some Reds thrown in for good measure (Extra Space): Pop and poured.
  Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Fine thin legs.
  Now the nose is impressivo right from the get-go. Some may say it is not clean, but I love it. Pronounced aromas of barnyard, soil, earthiness, smoke, some mushrooms. Developing.
  On the palate, initially a bit tight but opened up lots more with air. Dry, medium+ acidity, low alcohol, medium body. Pronounced flavor intensity, with flavours of salty saline minerality, medicinal herbs, straw/hay, general savouriness and a character to it that as the French say - a certain je ne sais quoi. Difficult to put descriptors to this wine. Maybe this is what they mean by expressing "terroir".
  Long finish.
  Outstanding quality by The Legendary Edoardo Valentini. Drinking well now.

  VERTICALE MONTEPULCIANO VALENTINI (PRANZO DA KUBIK): Annata calda, giallo dorato, più del solito. Perfetto da bere adesso.
  Solito naso ossidativo di marca valentini, può piacere o no, non è un difetto!! E' Valentini!! A me fa impazzire!!
  Naso sapido e stordente: Pietra focaia, ardesia, fiori d' acacia, miele di camomilla.
  In bocca è grasso, corposo, con una lievissima carbonica che prepara al sorso successivo.
  Forse non il millesimo più elegante, ma è sempre una meraviglia!!

  oggi, bevendo, ho pensato solo ad una cosa: inutili i descrittori, inutile cercare di tradurre in parole la solida complessità di questo vino. E' un estratto di terra, un infuso di ere geologiche antiche interpretate dall'annata. Come un viaggio nel tempo che prende le caratteristiche dell'anno da cui siete partiti. Adoro questo vino, lo adoro perché lo bevi senza pensare ma quando ne hai voglia puoi pensarci su tutta la sera. (facendo i seri) ha ragione jossik, manca un po' di acidità e trovo meno grinta di quella che ti aspetti.
