The 2019 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is a beautiful vintage for Valentini, unfurling in the glass with gently reductive aromas of briny green olive, mandarin pith, fresh fennel, fennel seed and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with a deep core that's framed by palate-coating reserves of enlivening dry extract, in its aromatic profile and its antimony of texture and mordancy it's uniquely Italian, yet it can stand alongside some of France's greatest whites.
A private dinner (Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL): Not decanted - it would ruin witnessing the awakening of the young wine. Floral and fragrant, silky and seamless, almost Riesling-like elegance (12% ABV) and drinking flow, very shapely, dreamy effortlessness, deep and salty minerally core, tart citrus fruit, whiff of spice, precise and transparent, zesty finish with excellent resonance and length. Absolutely stunning in its extreme youth. Huge score but every point is deserved.

A private dinner with friends (Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL): Identical to my previous note. Mind-blowing stuff.

Tasted at Piazza Duomo in Alba, this wine had a great medium+ intensity nose.
It was a bit watery in the mouth at first but developed well with 2+hours of air.
This wine was light overall but had integrated acidity that eventually gave it nice length.
Surprisingly good with air.
