  • Beautiful, intriguing nose. The palate is open and expressive from the get go, juicy and slightly funky, as Mr. Auerbach writes below ripe lemon, hay field, smoke, white flowers and minerals. The flavor profile is complex and mesmerizing. Long, versatile and mouthwatering finish. This starts to clam up after 2-3 hours and loses its initial precocious nature. Maybe I am starstruck, or not, but one of the highlights of this year.

  • Pale white in colour. Over 70 year old vines bring complex flavours. Savoury minerality, white flowers, honey, nut and pineapple. Somewhat reductive on the palate, dense and creamy, exciting acidity. Great potential with ageing - please stay patient.

  • While young it’s apparently this was already better than the 17, the depth and balance, with air this kept u folding. So good already but will only get better.

  • Just a baby. But already firing and a long life ahead.

  • Needs a little bit of time and a higher temperature in the large glass to open up. Lemon yellow colour with green reflections; immediately recognisable expression on the nose, more complex and expressive than I remember from previous vintages, ripe lemon, fresh hay, smoky minerality, white blossom, mountain air; beautifully formed palate, shapely, silky, perfect weight, hint of (just ripe) mirabelle, creamy lemon, aromatic green herbs; dreamy finish with very good length. Excellent now, great future. At Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL.
