Opened for 8 hours, into dense smoky ripe red fruits, roses. Further sniffs really brings up a strawberry galore, this is classic Roumier in the sense that it's extracted without being heavy. An onslaught of heady Roumier goodness that's befitting the vintage. Palate could do better on the length.

Champagne, Red Burgundy and Riesling - Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Expressive youthful nose displaying concentrated red fruit, strawberry concentrate, cherry jam, grilled fat, sweet spices and earth. Excellent concentration, generous concentrated sweet red fruit, rich but also harmonious, good acidity, earthy mineral, and a long sweet red fruit driven finish. This clearly displays the style of Roumier, i.e. excellent fruit concentraion, purity and concentration. Although drinking very well, the overall impression is not terribly complex which shouldn't surprise anyone.

Very nice nose of salty griotte cherries, very mineral, bocon fat…. Laser sharp mineral, salty sweet cherries, petits fruits rouges, still very primary, will need 10+ years to be ready, plenty of upwards potential.

Opened at Terroirs by LQV in Hong Kong. Double decanted.
I'm wondering if I should have decanted this, because Roumier tends to benefit from some air, especially as this was a 2015.
As it started opening up after about an hour, then you could really tell the Roumier touch. Light and effortless on the palate, red fruits coming through to form a beautiful expression of Chambolle, alongside some stong yet well integrated backbone and acidity.
I'd say there is some upside. Revisit in 3+ years. If opening today, give it more air.
