nose of creme brulee. in the mouth very dense. lots of buttersugar here, need to consume in small sips. Likened to a sumo wrestler by my dinnermates. To me had some attributes of a liqueur.

Well of course it is excellent; it’s Jadot and it’s 2014. And yet, and yet - it isn’t as thrilling as the Batard, at least at this early stage. There is great viscosity, excellent acidity (as in all these ‘14s) and fine lemon citrus. Still, I could not detect a step up from the Batard in concentration, which is what I am looking for.

Tasted side by side with the 2012. I like both wines. Vibrant acidity frames citrus and apple notes. Saline and tannic. Brilliant energy. The minerals and wood tannins impart a bitterness that should go away in time. Stone-y and calcaire finish. Wait at least 10 years before opening a bottle.

Reassuringly outstanding. A couple of years short of full maturity. Luscious, rich, full. Concentrated yellow fruit and good acidity. Delicious.
