By Coravin,125ml @ 67 Pall Mall. From Magnum. Touch oxidative on the nose, not premox, just oxidation resulting from age it felt like. Maybe it has seen its best days? Still a very solid wine, citrus and minerality, light creamy texture. Bright wine still with good depth. Was outclassed by the leflaive Batard 2004 we side side by side and that oxidative side spoiled a bit the symphony but a very nice experience nonetheless. 92

Dinner at Don and Gary's - 64 CB, 03 Plume and 67 D'Yquem (Don's house): I last had the bottle in 2008 which was exceptional. No sign of obvious premox but seems a bit dull and slightly lacking energy, especially in lieu of the pedigree. A slight hint of the 04 taint but come and go, almond paste, honey and mineral. Ripe yellow fruit driven palate impression, chewy, good acidity and decent finish. Lost the precision and vibrant energy. I would not be a buyer.

Champagne Dinner in Champaign (NAYA - Champaign IL): Sweet spice with mature apple and pear on both nose and palate. Certainly still bright enough and alive, just somewhat lost after the stunning 1999.

Yellow gold. Moderately advanced. Some bruised apple notes. Ripe.
