Academie de Vin dinner in Bordeaux. Intense aromatics, very fresh, the last time I had a great Sauternes from 2015 it was Yquem and it was stellar. This here is cut from a similar cloth, fresh, airy despite the ripeness. Beautiful apricot and quince notes.

Made from a blend of 90% Semillon, 6% SB and 4% Muscadelle, aged for 30 months in 25% new oak. Medium golden colour. Intense aroma of honey, passionfruit, dried peaches, honeyed pineapples, dried lemon peel, nicely developed botrytis notes. Full body, concentrated with deep and intense flavours of dried fruits, honey, tropical fruits, elegant texture, fresh and high acidity, long savoury finish.

Medium-bodied, floral, fresh and tropical, with the right amount of honeyed pineapple, orange, flowers and spice paired with bracing acidity. This sweet treat will offer delicious sweet drinking for at least 2 decades.

First look at Sauternes 2015 from barrel (Camping du Lac Bordeaux): Lovely nose, vivid spice, white pepper and cinnamon, the sample still had a touch of CO2 but I suspect this will be a fine wine.
