interesting, but quite unusual. gold, but not red yet. on the nose, none of the beeswax and apricot that I was expecting, rather apple (with hints of oxidation, "pomme blette" like in Jura) and then liquorice and mineral. In the mouth good acidity but it is not very sweet and it fades quite quickly. OK, but not very exciting.

Second Sunday Group: Chateau Latour vertical (Frank's (hosted by Marty)): Courtesy of NG, popped and poured. Pineapple, tropical fruit and marmalade notes follow through on the palate. Lacks the richness of a top flight Sauternes, but this is still pretty nice.

Popped and poured. Worrisome bottle stink blew off in 5 minutes. Lightly textured and flavored. Not very complex but pleasant nonetheless. Drink now.

Nose is not terribly expressive, has some caramel, and I definitely appreciate the apple, with some peppermint.
