Canon vs. Duffau-Lagarrosse 2009-2020 tasted blind (Fribourg): Unbelievably rich. So sweet so rich, good aromas around apricot, quince, smoke and molasses, but you need to like this full throttle liqureux category. Score higher if you can handle it. 88-92

No detailed notes, at the end of the night. I remember this however to be very well balanced in terms of sweetness / acidity, nothing too sticky, good fruit and some evolution and to be very enjoyable

From 375: Golden color. More body then your average Barsac this is at a good place with good orchard pit fruit, citruce peel and honey which is well balanced with a nice supple medium finish. Easy drinking and should continue to age well.

Never dared to open a bottle of wine for breakfast, but, having a very good blue cheese and brioche, thought: “Why not”? And what a perfect pairing that was! Even a parallel consumption of caffè latte and subsequent profiteroles nicely blended in! The wine itself had a full body with a concentrated extract and masterfully dosed acidity to balance the high sugar content. More notes of burnt sugar than usual with a taste profile leaning towards that of Tokaji. Now I have a feeling like I committed a sin, but somehow it turned into the greatest beginning to the 1st Advent Sunday ever!

Yay! Less sickly sweet than most dessert wines with more fruit .
