This 1999 Meursault is likely the most reductive Coche Dury I have tasted. At 23 years of age, it does not show much signs of ageing. Beautifully expressive bouquet of sweet citrus & white fruits and buttery popcorn. Some saline and spice touch underneath the layer of reduction. Relatively light bodied compared to more recent vintages, but compensated by its stunning bouquet. Gorgeous today but will continue to age for another decade (minimum). An incredible village wine! (92/100)

Last bottle from my case, paired with 99 Maison Leroy Meursault which this handily beat.
decanted 30 minutes after opening. Lovely toasty nose but not too heavy. Some 30 minutes after decanting this was already fucking beautiful, and it really opened up with more time. Soooo toasty, really beautiful, but not overpowering. About 3 hours after opening this just got really powerful, and finally we got a load of the classic popcorn nose.

[Blind] Burnt buttery, nutty, macadamia nut and hazelnut. Mature, developed, weighty but has fresh florals above rich yellow fruit. Palate is mature and the yellow fruit is a touch tart and orange at the beginning. Good acid. Nice state of maturity and fully enjoyable right now. Rich, big weight. Still has freshness and racy acidity. Fruit getting brighter and more tropical towards the end. Restrained at first.
