Drank single blind alongside the 04, 06, and 11. This was obliviously easy to guess based on the colour. The acid and coche profile is still lively and unmistakable. The favorite of the night by a good margin. It’s true what they say about producer.

My first Coche-Dury, the regular Meursault but an aged one at least, a special wine for me, firstly I expected not so much, secondly I expected more. It is a classy Burgundy with a lot of roasted almonds and nuts, but still a refreshing acidity. It shows some aging signs I would say at his peak, great company for food. Getting better with time and air. Missing a little bit more complexity in the finish. Anyway nicely balanced

Lost my formal notes, so this is from memory: Was looking forward to this but the nose was really not there - I detected something worrisome, but it was Matt who called that it was so slightly corked. Indeed, it was. Not enough to really smell like it, but just a trace and that was enough to kill the nose completely. The palate was much better, with lemon drops and saline and brown spices, and the finish was quite good. Hard to kill Coche.

Tart, coiled citrus fruit offset with some butter and cream. Has good weight and intensity to it, almost too much power for me on this night. Good, light to moderate resonance on the finish. This should easily drink well over the next 5+ years.

Chicago Burgundy Geek Dinner (Boka - Chicago IL): Ripe apple with good concentration, lemon peel hints, pronounced toasted nuttiness and very good balance and persistence. Moderate length.
