pop and pour, wonderful gerard potel aromatics (rose petal, stemmy and cherry.) color showed muddled and cloudy. palate was lean, with sour cherry and iron. at this age, bottle variation is very real but the provenance cannot be better (the BYOer's grandfather's cellar.) If you own any, open it and check on it. My view is the wine is on the downhill. The wine died over the course of a 3.5hr meal.

Earth, cherry, herbs, iron and light cedar. Persistent length on the palate with sweetness. Got the combination of ethereality and power. 93-94
