This had a lovely developing nose of game/musk and subtle baking spice. The palate was initially reticent, but began to deliver on the aromatic potential after a two hour decant. I felt like this bottle was approaching the early peak, which is still perhaps 2-3 years out. Warning to fruitarians - this wine has shed a lot of fruit in the last five years. But I really dug this bottle, it felt like something of a light at the end of the tunnel for me with the modern era of Pousse d'Or; perhaps they really do transform in time. While I wouldn't yet call this a top-tier example, it's certainly become a Volnay in the five years since I last drank one. This had no sediment, which was surprising for a 15 year-old Burgundy.

From magnum: Drinking at peak, but will hold (at least from large format). Deep fragrant nose. Well balanced wine showing abundant fruit and acidity. Oak stands out a bit for my taste. Fans of new world pinot may find this a bit thin.
Some wines at Thierry's place (June 2019): A refined, dark bouquet of black cherries, blackberries and some black plums, also spices and nascent dark florals. On palate, a rich, sweet-seeming entry, but surprising development (compared with the more primary, fruit-forward bouquet). A little oxidation, earthy, showing sous bois and some porcini and black truffle. Still, black fruited and quite persistent. Some dried and freshly cut herbs. Refined tannins with refreshing acidity. I had it as an '08 Volnay. On the reveal, I recognised the crunchy, somewhat crystalline fruit and acidity seen in the Corbeaux and often in '06 red Burgundies. More detail and interest than the Corbeaux. There now for drinking.

(Pousse d'Or Volnay Clos de la Bouse d'Or) Medium, medium-plus colour. Wide aromas of with fine red fruits. Fine tannins with super acidity that leaks flavour into the finish which has a hint of cream - very nice.
