Leroy Dinner at Binkley's (Phoenix, AZ): Soap and spice on the nose, this was a very intellectual wine with many layers. I spent a long time contemplating it, and it was never as approachable or giving as some of the other wines but extremely interesting nonetheless. I suspect this has the most upside of any of the 3 CDLR's served tonight.

Medium red in color. Very deep and wide typical Leroy nose, lots of red flowers and spices. Medium plus palate that is very well balanced but doesnt seem to have the depth of the nose, quite long finish. Drinking well now, very good rather than great.

Friday after Thanksgiving (FAT) (Palm Beach Gardens FL): Tasting, brief note. most spice driven aromas with some good red fruit, emerging sous bois. Palate is also very well balanced, not overly firm or harsh like less successful 1995 Grand Crus. Long and elegant.

Friday after Thanksgiving II (Palm Beach Gardens, FL): Great red and black fruit interplay. Great front, but a bit of a hole in the middle. Spice. Mature. Not my favorite Leroy vintage.

Layered and well structured red and black fruits.
