  Burgundy dinner at Grace (Grace Chicago): Lovely Leroy nose of dark fruit, spice and a hint of tar. The palate was leaner than the nose would have suggested and a bit short on the finish. That said, this is a great success from this vintage and I think it has a ways to go.

  Great Burgundy Dinner (Grace - Chicago IL): Served single blind in Leroy CdlR flight, we weren't certain after unveiling which was the 1991 and which the 1992. But past experience and comparing wine in glass vs remaining wine in the 1992 bottle made me 95% confident this was the 1992. Very alluring aromas, classically Leroy with perfume and black fruit. Elegant flavors, very good balance, modest spice, slightly lean, moderate length and intensity. Didn't evolve much in glass. Very impressive for the vintage.

  1992 Domaine Leroy Clos de la Roche (Frankrijk, Bourgogne, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru) Kleur: Fluwelig robijnrood met nauwelijks verkleuring Aroma / bouquet: Expressief, subtiele complexiteit: boers / animaal, bosaardbeitjes, gekookte biet, hout (sigarenkistjes). Smaak / Afdronk: Fris-zuur, opvallend veel materie, tannines zijn wat 'korrelig' en hoekig, behoorlijke kracht en concentratie maar na het bouquet toch iets tegenvallend. Algemeen / potentieel: De 'piraat' tussen de DRC-wijnen die zich echter prima staande houdt. Mooi rijp glas en - met dezelfde leeftijd - een stuk mooier dan de DRC RC. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Smaak / Afdronk: 14 + Algemeen / potentieel: 7 = 88/100

  A nice wine which showed typicity but a slight dilution which is characteristic of the vintage was also evident. Slighly stemmy (not my favourite style) and a touch rustic but still quite good.
