  I had no expectations when I opened this, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't dead and the fruit, while quite stewy, was soft and round with surprising depth for a 33 year old village Vosne. This was bricked throughout with a surprisingly firm tannic spine and had lots of earth and minerality. Very interesting to say the least. I'll bet this was really excellent 15 or 20 years ago.
