  • With charcuterie at Nicolas. A very deep red, with browning at the rim. Spice, leather, wood and touch of oak on the nose. Very secondary bouquet. Palate had zero fruit, all leather, wood, spice, dirt and earth. Having this with some charcuterie and iberico shoulder did give it some respite but this wine has definitely seen better days. Should have been consumed at least 5 years ago.

  • Medium garnet core, medium mahogany/orange rim. Medium intensity on the nose with initial forest floor aromas giving way ro raspberries and perfumed floral notes after half an hour in the glass. On the palate, medium + acidity with soft tannins, pleasant medium/medium + intense red fruit and forest floor with a good length savoury finish. The wine is elegant, restrained and balanced, drinking beautifully now.

(Grivot Jean Vosne-Romanée) A beautiful ruby colour when it catches the sun. Roasted raspberry nose, just a trace of spice too. Neither the concentration nor tannin of Grivot's 1995 VR Bossières, but this is very smooth with medium concentrated fruit. The palate was also very dry - but became more friendly with time. Quite good today, but I think much better in 2 or 3 years time.
