  • Nice elegant spices, sweet red fruit, elegant and good acidity, would drink this now!

  • Bottle was decanted for 2+ hours; it was exceptional. Med-full, soft mouthfeel, nose with dark cherry, sous bois, dried floral notes -- some residual tannins that added fine structure. The Grivot seemed a touch rustic compared to a 2014 Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne village which was (also decanted). Interestingly the Grivot with more structure and earthiness was the better pairing for a Wagyu steak. (Mugneret-Gibourg was delicate/ethereal in texture in comparison.) Grivot is drinking extraordinarily now but could keep for more years.

  • Vosne spices, beautiful sweet red strawberries and cherries. Fresh but sweet fruit. Some development already. In a very very good spot right now. Fresh, light on its feet and developed.

  • Bright and beaming. All about sweet red cherry fruit, there is some weight to it, a bit of heft and structure, but overall it stays true to the sophisticated smooth elegance that seems to define Grivot wines from this commune. Sweet autumn leaves, flowers, mushroom and spice. Never a bad bottle, shame they've ramped the price up so much.

  • France vs ROW (Home): Is it a copout to describe this as 'really Vosne-y'? Spicy and velvety red fruit, just an edge of pulpiness in a very appealing way. This was popped and poured so we got to enjoy its evolution in the glass and, while initially quite straightforward, it began to express more floral notes of rose and violet with time. Good concentration on the palate - I found myself expecting and wanting a touch more richness so by comparison I found it just a touch lean and dry- a lovely wine though, and I thought a really good counterpoint to a Roagna Barbaresco of the same vintage.
