Friday Night at Dave's Place: This pours dark garnet in the glass. The nose is massively expressive and complex showing tobacco leaf, massive crushed gravel, charcoal, charred green bell pepper, blackberries, plant stem, cigar smoke, pencil shavings, and dried black currants. The palate enters on black currant and pencil lead with tannin that is is medium minus and acid is medium. The finish reveals the lean origins of the vintage turning a tad green and metallic which is what holds this back most. Just a lovely wine that recalls a Loire Cab Franc profile on the nose. Not for everyone but I found this quite enjoyable, particularly on the nose.

Coravin fun - Domaine de Chevalier (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Beef stock, red fruits, sweet spice, a little cellar stink, very slight farmyard, leather, Autumnal notes. Juicy, fleshy, beef stock, red hued fruits backed by sweet spice, a little mushroom, leathery tannins in support. All travel long. Very nice.

Coravin fun - Domaine de Chevalier; 2/23/2022-3/6/2022 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Caramel, red currant, leather, earth, dried cedar, a little baking spice, slight high toned elements. With time it gets more dried out, the spice more to the fore, a touch of cellar stink, sourly juicy, red currant, tannic whisper, leather, a little spice.

First sip had potential but it went down fast. Sadly not drinkable.
