Served blind. Red berry fruits; raspberry especially, sweet spice, clean and pretty, slight carbo crush notes. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, fleshy, red berry fruits, drying chewy texture. Nice Straight to new world, Oz or NZ, but with 5-10 years of age. Fell between two stools then - a gently handled McLaren Vale Grenache or a bolder Pinot Noir...

Opened tonight, decanted for an hour or so. Absolutely superb pinot noir. A serious wine. A long finish with a good number of years, left, if cellared properly. Cherries, baking spice, plum, rhubarb.A very mouth filling wine. From the great 2015 vintage. If you see a bottle or two. Buy it. A fantastic Central Otago pinot noir.

Burn cottage PN with a few years on it’s back. These are lovely fruit- and floral-driven in their youth. This kid has acquired gentle aromas of forest floor and mushroom over the continuously shining fresh red cherries, blackberries and cola. Mild cinnamon notes as well. Smooth, medium-bodied and fresh. Very gentle tannins. Tad bit short, but likeable. Nice balance, and in a good place now. Ending on a cherry stone and spice note. Would not give this one much more time in the bottle. It can, but I definitely enjoy these with the lovely fruity and floral aromas still in play.

Burgundian in style without the barnyard (which I like). Fading fruit and dropped off after the first day so maybe I waited too long.

Raspberry, red currant, smoke, and loads of spice. It’s pretty intense. Loads of liquorice.
